Headlines

As I age, I realize how much I am like my father, both for good - and not so good. I know this is a near universal experience for men. My expressions, my tone of voice and my temperament, all reflect his influence. As I age, I grow in my respect for him and all of the sacrifices he made for me, my brothers, my sister and my mother. I also wish I had had more time with him. Trusting in the mercy and love of God, and growing older, I now know that wish will come to pass. I eagerly await it. My father's favorite song was the Louis Armstrong classic "What a Wonderful World". Each father's day since he died, in a melancholy mix of mourning and memories, I listen to that song and shed more than a few tears. As the years go by, its words and insights open up in their simplicity and wisdom. My father understood that the words spoke to the things that really matter - once everything that pretends to matter is stripped away. As his life unfolded in those later years, when his congestive heart failure seemed to take its greatest toll, he loved the song and the sentiment it expressed even more.

If you read the same reports I have, some of which have appeared - sadly - even on some Catholic and other Christian news sources - you would have believed the propaganda narrative that Governor Perry was at some event to disparage people who have same sex attraction. There is a reason for that. There is a small but very vocal fringe I call the homosexual equivalency movement who not only seek to compel all of us to accept the active homosexual lifestyle as the moral equivalent of marriage and compel us by using the police power of the State to call homosexual partnerships a marriage, - but want to go much further. They now want to silence anyone who does not agree with their opinion or their political position. My, how the militant advocates of so the called tolerance of this hour have become so intolerant.

Defend the Right to Be Born! NEVER Use the Term Abortion Rights
By Deacon Keith A Fournier | June 15, 2014

The use of the phrase abortion rights is an example of the decay of language to which George Orwell referred in his 1946 essay entitled, Politics and the English Language. Evil Actions do not have rights. Only human persons have rights. There is no abortion right. The real right is the one denied in every procured abortion, the Right to Be Born. Every child has a Right to Be Born. The shorthand phrase abortion rights is a linguistic tool used by reporters and journalists who have become tools of the propaganda press of a regime denying children the right to be born.
