O God, who by the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin prepared a worthy dwelling for your Son, grant, we pray, that, as you preserved her from every stain by virtue of the Death of your Son, which you foresaw, so, through her intercession, we, too, may be cleansed and admitted to your presence

The Blessed Virgin Mary is the ideal disciple and model follower of Jesus Christ for each and every one of us. She has been aptly called \"the first Christian\", and when you think about it - that is so true. \"Be it done to me according to your word.\" The Immaculate Conception tells us not only about Mary, who she is and what she represents, but it also tells us about each and every one of us, about ourselves and our own lives

Already in this life we have in us a participation in the Resurrection of Christ. If it is true that Jesus will resurrect us at the end of times, it is also true that, in a certain aspect, we are already resurrected with Him. In fact, through Baptism, we are inserted in the Death and Resurrection of Christ and we participate in the new life. Therefore, while awaiting the last day, we have in ourselves a seed of resurrection, as anticipation of the full resurrection which we will receive in inheritance

Pope Francis asked us to "Pray for these sisters and for all the people who have been kidnapped as a result of the ongoing conflict. We must continue to pray and work together for peace, entrusting ourselves to Mary". Maronite Bishop Samir Mazloum asked What fault is it of the nuns and the innocent civilians to become victims and turn into hostages? "Nuns spend their time praying. They do not fight or carry guns." Greek Orthodox Patriarch Youhanna X Yazigi, urged the Jihadist militia Jabhat al-Nusra to return the nuns from St Thekla monastery. He also asked for help from the international community. We appeal to the seed of conscience that God planted in all humans, including the kidnappers, to release our sisters safely. We call upon the international community and world governments to [help secure the] release the nuns of the St Tecla convent.

I am joined with Christians from accross the confessional spectrum, faithful Jews, other people of faith and good will in this growing marriage liberation movement. We are the new counter culture of this age. The opponents of marriage and family are the proponents of a system which seeks to impose their new order on the rest of us. We will not back down because our cause is just and true. History has demonstrated that we are on the right side, they are on the wrong side, and we will prevail. Civil institutions do not create marriage. Neither can they create some new right to marry for those who are incapable of marriage.

The New Evangelization: Exorcising the Demon of Obtuseness
By Andrew M. Greenwell, Esq. | December 5, 2013

As modern Popes have observed, modern society suffers from spiritual obtuseness. Modernity is possessed by the demon of obtuseness. It is one of its basic traits. This is obtuseness is reflected by the fact that as a society--which means most of us on a one-by-one basis--we have lost the sense of sin. The modern Pontiffs would seem to agree: "The restoration of a proper sense of sin is the first way of facing the grave spiritual crisis looming over man today."

Dr Deal Hudson on Why the Wise Men Followed the Star
By Deal W. Hudson | December 7, 2013

Thus, from the East the Wise Men came, from the crucible of civilization, the most ancient of learned cultures, to the court of Herod in Jerusalem. Whether they were deceived by Herod's flattery we do not know, nor do we know if they sensed his murderous intent in asking them to return and report on the child's whereabouts. Though wise men, we do not know if these kings were worldly-wise. We do know, however, they believed in the message of their dreams.
