Let us thank the Lord for these Christians who are the hidden saints among us. It is the Spirit within who carries them forward and it would do us good to think of these people. If they do this, if they can do this then why not me and we ask the Lord to give us the gift of fortitude. - Pope Francis

I am joining with Christians from across the confessional spectrum to defend marriage and the family and society founded upon it because our cause serves the common good of society. We have common roots and a common task in this urgent hour. We are emerging as a new freedom movement. It is truth which sets men, women and Nations free. A truly free society must be committed to core moral principles or it loses its freedom, even if it still mouths the word. It actually forges its own shackles while purporting to be breaking them. History books are filled with the sad stories of Nations and civilizations who no longer exist as a result of this error. We are Freedom Loving Dignitarians. Our defense of life, like our defense of marriage, is rooted in our conviction concerning human dignity and true freedom. It flows from our conviction concerning the necessity of connecting freedom and objective moral truth.

Kianna's 'friend' makes his intentions clear - Part III
By Catholic Online (NEWS CONSORTIUM) | May 16, 2014

Kianna found herself on the leather car seat of her newfound friend's Mercedes, a man as old as her lost father. His name was Satyajit, but he insisted that Kianna call him "Jo." He was navigating through the hot, dusty streets of Delhi, now more a world away with the car's blasting air conditioner behind smoky windows. "So, where are we going, Jo?"

By Catholic Online (NEWS CONSORTIUM) | May 13, 2014

Life goes on in sub-Saharan Africa - as it would during medieval times. The torture of prisoners in these countries continue to be applied with impunity. On July 26, 2000 the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith issued The Message of Fatima
It should be read by anyone who seeks to understand the approach that the Church, as mother and teacher, takes to private revelation. In that document the Congregation specifically addressed what is referred to as the Third Secret of Fatima. It was explained to Saint John Paul II by Sr. Lucia, one of the visionaries. Few messages have ever received as much interest as this third secret, at least in some in contemporary Catholic circles. The interest has sometimes led to excessive curiosity and, in some circles, some of the reaction has smacked of a contemporary form of Gnosticism. The core of the message of Fatima, when properly understood and received, is a call to genuine conversion to Jesus Christ. It is a little gospel. The children were told by Mary, the Mother of God, to tell all of us to repent from sin, do penance, turn back to Jesus Christ.

Starving and destitute, Kianna meets a very special 'friend' - Part II
By Catholic Online (NEWS CONSORTIUM) | May 4, 2014

Kianna made her way to the marketplace, walking unpaved, dirt roads. It would be here she would spend the day panhandling for coins in order to buy food for her brothers and ailing mother. She had taken to stealing bits of food from stalls recently, but she knew that this was wrong. If she was to be caught, angry shopkeepers would beat her as an example to all the other street urchins. Kianna reached the main part of the street, and saw lots of familiar faces - there were untold other children just like her, all vying for the same limited amount of money doled out by shoppers.

By Pope Francis | May 13, 2014

The Holy Spirit is the living presence of God in the Church. He keeps the Church going, keeps the Church moving forward. More and more, beyond the limits, onwards. The Holy Spirit with His gifts guides the Church. You cannot understand the Church of Jesus without this Paraclete, whom the Lord sends us for this very reason. And He makes unthinkable choices, but unimaginable!
