This wealthy homosexual couple has announced their intention to sue the Church of England to try to compel that Church to perform a homosexual marriage ceremony. Barlow told the Mail - I want to go into my church and marry my husband. The only way forward for us now is to make a challenge in the courts against the Church- All people of good will who recognize the vital role that marriage and family serve in the formation of a truly just society must be courageous and persevere. Surely, persons whose hearts are hardened against the truth will read something very different into the approach of Pope Francis, claiming that, in fact, he intends to abandon certain teachings of the Church which our totally secularized culture rejects. Their false praise of the Holy Father's approach mocks the fact that he is the Successor of Saint Peter, totally grounded in the Beatitudes, and that, therefore, with humble trust in God alone, he rejects the acceptance and praise of the world. - Cardinal Raymond Burke

Five Ways Catholics Engage the Culture
By Deal W. Hudson | March 21, 2014

To simply accept the culture as being invulnerable to Catholic prayer and action is both cynical and ignorant. The history of the Church testifies over and over to the impact believers have on the course of events and the shape of the culture. The cynicism, of course, is merely a pretext for either sloth- indifference to seeking what is good - or cowardice, in unwillingness to seek the good in the face of danger.

When Catholics Started to Lose Their Cultural Clout
By Deal W. Hudson | March 20, 2014

The sophistication seen in the original Code written by a Chicago Jesuit, Rev. Daniel Lord, SJ, had been turned into a fear-driven attempt of the Legion to act as parents looking out for a nation of impressionable children. In doing so, the Legion's condemnations showed no appreciation of, or respect for, film as an art form, in the manner contained in Rev. Lord's original Code. The moral of the story? Catholics lose cultural influence when they act like parental arbiters of public taste, especially when they refuse to acknowledge excellence in works of art they find somehow objectionable or dangerous.

Sensing Jesus
By Tara K. E. Brelinsky | March 20, 2014

Without a direct word spoken to me, my senses identified the Lord. It didn't require an overt action or conversation to raise my awareness. So, too, it can be with us when we testify to our beliefs. When those around us hear our choice of words, watch our actions or study our demeanor they will form an opinion. If we speak with charity, move with tender purpose and love unconditionally they will sense the presence of Jesus.

Exodus II? Christian Persecution in the Middle East
By Ken Blackwell and Bob Morrison | March 20, 2014

The former President of Lebanon, Amine Gemayel, is a Maronite Christian. He recently warned of "an exodus approaching biblical proportions." Gemayel told a gathering in Zurich of Christian Solidarity International (CSI) and other human rights activists that the current wave of church burnings, murders, and riots against Christians in the Mideast is the work of radical Islamists. The former Lebanese leader's own brother had been assassinated in Beirut by these same jihadists.
